Pineapple Wellness Shots

I love a good energy shot, but I hate the store prices. This easy recipe will make about a week’s worth of energy shots. Perfect for right in the morning or before a workout. For my nurses, this is for the post-lunch itis’, when you need that energy to get through the rest of the shift.

You can substitute the pineapple for any fruit. I love ginger, but if you have trouble getting used to it, use a strong base! Maybe exchange it for oranges or carrots.

Here are some notes on the benefits of both ginger & turmeric.

Ginger is great for your belly! Its anti-inflammatory properties can help with digestion and ladies get this, menstruation. A study (link below), shows how a teaspoon of ginger worked just as well as 400mg of ibuprofen. TMI alert – researches have proven that ginger can help reduce the amount of blood from about half of cup per period down to a quarter cup.

Besides being awesome against inflammation, ginger is also a pain reliever, research shows that ginger can go head to head with an over the counter medication for migraines and have the same, if not better, effect. Why not choose ginger vs a pill that can have so many other side effects. (This study proved that one-eigth of a teaspoon of ginger worked)

Turmeric this indian spice is a powerhouse. The bright yellow coloring in turmeric is called curcumin. Curcumin has been shown to be effective in three anti-cancer treatments. Cancer cells mutate & keep growing. By doing so, they deactivate their self-killing properities. Curcumin has shown to reactivate that killing process. That’s enough for me to incorporate turmeric.
